Staghorn fern

A$30.00

The Staghorn Fern (Platycerium spp.) is a striking, sculptural plant known for its antler-like fronds that bring a bold, architectural element to any space. Native to tropical regions, it naturally grows on trees, but it also adapts well to life indoors—whether mounted or potted. It features two types of fronds: rounded, shield-like basal fronds that help protect its root system, and larger, forked fronds that resemble stag antlers. With its unique form and tropical vibe, the Staghorn Fern is a favourite among plant enthusiasts looking for something a little out of the ordinary.

When grown in soil, Staghorn Ferns prefer a very well-draining, loose potting mix. Place the plant in bright, indirect light and for best health keep it in a warm, humid position, although it will tolerate less than ideal conditions very well.

Water thoroughly when the top third of the soil feels dry. Regular misting or a nearby humidifier can be helpful, especially in dry indoor environments.

Comes in a 13cm nursery pot. Pictured with the Angus planter - 13cm tide (sold separately).
