FAQ

Why buy from us?

Because we care! Sadly, when you buy a plant from a big box store, the plants are already on the slow road to dying. They’ve been taken from the growers, living their best life in perfect conditions, only to sit on a shelf in less than ideal conditions, with little care apart from the occasional heavy shower of cold water from a hose.

When plants come into our care, we nurture them, water and feed them correctly, give them warmth and light and everything they need to feel loved and grow until they are delivered to your door. This ensures reduced shock when coming into the new environment of your home, giving your plant the best chance of living a long and happy life with you.

Prior to delivery, we inspect them carefully for any signs of insect damage or disease. If anything doesn’t look quite right, we will not deliver it.

Will my plant look like the photo on the website?

Whilst we cannot photograph every single plant that we have in stock, the photographs on the website are a very good example of the size and shape you will receive. We take all our own photos, so we make sure of this. In the event that new stock, or remaining stock, is smaller or slightly different, we will make a note of this on the product page. If current stock is dramatically different to what is listed, we will reshoot it, so you always know what you will receive. In any other instance, we will always contact you prior to delivery, in order to make sure the product is to your satisfaction.

Do the plants come in a pot?

If you’ve selected ‘plant only’ it will come in a plastic nursery pot that fits inside the ceramic pot it’s pictured in. If you order a plant & pot combo, the plant will come in a plastic pot within the cache pot.

Can I choose a different pot?

Yes! We offer a small selection of pot options with each plant. If you would like something different, just purchase each item separately, and leave a note on checkout to let us know that you would like them potted together.

Do the pots have drainage?

Most of the ceramic & concrete pots we sell do not have a drainage hole. Any pot that does have a drainage hole will come with either a plug or a matching saucer, as pictured. As our plants are potted in plastic within the ceramic pot, watering is not an issue, simply remove the inner pot to water, or drain out any excess once it has run through.

Do you offer a gift wrapping service?

Yes we do! If your order is a gift, leave a message for us on the checkout page and make sure to tell us what you would like the note to say. We wrap the gift beautifully in brown paper and string, along with a bespoke hand written card. Our cards are all created and printed by us, using our plant photography as a little piece of art your recipient will want to keep forever.

The best part is, this service is free of charge and at no extra cost to you!

Do you offer corporate gifting?

Yes we can! We can also include your branding on any gifts we deliver, and offer discounts on bulk orders. Just give us a call or email your request to arrange.

Can you help me choose the right plant for my home or office?

Absolutely! We offer free plant care and selection advice in store and would love to assist you in choosing the right plant for your space. If the task is a bit bigger, why not take advantage of our in home consultation service. We will come to you and offer plant installation & styling advice to find the right plants that suit your space and lifestyle. What if my order is damaged during delivery?

Prior to transport, we carefully wrap all the plants and pots to avoid any damage. We then recheck them before dropping them to your door. In the unlikely event that something has happened, we will notify you and arrange redelivery of an undamaged product.

What is your delivery policy?

Please note that we only offer a personalised delivery service to Melbourne. Visit the delivery & shipping page to check if we deliver to your area.

Pots & accessories can be shipped nationally, via Australia Post.

If you have any special requests for shipping and/or delivery, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate.

What if I’m not home when you deliver?

In the event that no one is available to accept at the time of delivery, we will contact you and leave the order in a safe place. In some situations where there is no safe place to leave your package (eg apartments with locked entry, no front porch) we will contact you to arrange for redelivery or customer pickup and a logistical fee will be charged.

What is your environmental policy?

We are committed to the environment and the future of the planet. As part of our commitment to achieving the principles of environmental sustainability, we do our best to minimise the use of products or practices that may be harmful to the planet. This includes only using 100% organic, natural plant foods and pest control measures, and reducing the use of new packaging as much as possible.

Single plants are generally delivered unpackaged, but for larger orders, we first and foremost reuse the boxes and packaging that has come to us from our suppliers. In some instances, bubble wrap is necessary to protect the products in transit. Mostly the wrap we use will be reused from other products that are sent to us. If we require new packaging or protective wrap, we use 100% recycled, or natural & biodegradable products where and when available.

Plastic nursery pots are unfortunately a necessary product of our industry. Plants are supplied to us in plastic, which is then supplied to you. When growing or repotting, we will sterilize and reuse these pots until they are no longer reusable. At this point, we wash them and take them to a centre for recycling into other plastic products. Any new pots we are required to buy come in a thinner form of 100% recycled plastic, in an effort to reduce waste.

In the cafe, we choose to use I Am Not Paper takeaway cups & lids. The reason we have chosen this product is because it is the only fully home biodegradable takeway cup we could find on the market. Unlike other “bio” products that can only be broken down in commercial facilities at ultra high heats, you can put our cups and lids in your compost bin at home and they will disappear in about 8-12 weeks. The cup itself is made from by products of agricultural waste, such as wheat stems, sugar cane, hemp and more, which is pressed into paper and lined with a fully biodegradable plant based water proof lining. This means that the cups do not contribute to deforestation.

We compost all of our cafe, food & plant waste at the store. The best part is - we always have nutritious wormy compost available (perfect for veggie gardens!). If you would like some free compost for your garden, drop us a line and we will alert you when it is ready for collection.
